How to Set Up a Fishing Pole-bestkayaks.guide
1. Assembling your Rod and Reel
If you're just getting started in fishing, one of the first things you'll need to do is put together your rod and reel. This can seem like a daunting task, but it's actually quite simple. Just follow these steps:
- Start by attaching your reel to the rod. There are usually just a few simple screws that need to be tightened in order to do this.
- Once the reel is attached, you'll need to thread the fishing line through it. Start by feeding the line through the eyelets on the rod, and then through the reel. Be sure to leave enough line hanging off of the reel so that you can easily cast your line when you're ready to start fishing.
- Once the line is threaded, you'll need to tie a lure onto the end of it. This can be done by simply tying a knot in the end of the line, or by using a specialized fishing knot.
2. Threading your Fishing Pole
Threading your fishing pole is a vital part of getting ready to fish. If you don't do it properly, you run the risk of tangling your line or losing your lure. Luckily, it's not a difficult process. Just follow these steps:
- Start by feeding the line through the eyelets on the rod. You'll want to do this from the bottom up, so that the line is fed through in the correct order.
- Once the line is through the eyelets, feed it through the reel. Be sure to leave enough line hanging off of the reel so that you can easily cast your line when you're ready to start fishing.
- Once the line is threaded, you'll need to tie a lure onto the end of it. This can be done by simply tying a knot in the end of the line, or by using a specialized fishing knot.
